The Inn at Villanova University

Welcome to The Inn at Villanova University, a unique reception venue in Delaware County less than two miles from Villanova’s campus. Located in the heart of Philadelphia’s beautiful Main Line, the Inn blends the historic charm of the 100-year-old Montrose Mansion with the amenities of a modern hotel and conference center.  The Inn reopened in summer 2017 after a complete renovation and offers today’s guests a setting that is fresh and comfortable, with the gracious hospitality that is a Main Line tradition.

The historic stone Montrose Mansion, designed by Philadelphia architect Wilson Eyre and completed in 1914, was the home of John Barnes Townsend and his wife, the former Margaret Riley. The 36-acre property was a wedding gift from Margaret’s father and overlooks the Gulph Creek valley to the north. The Mansion’s rooms feature details such as Tudor archways and paneling, molded plaster ceilings, and intricate wood carvings. It is a home that is gracious and hospitable, warm and elegant, with beautiful grounds and landscaped terraces. It is the crown jewel of the Inn at Villanova University, and is a favorite venue for weddings, special celebrations and corporate events.
