Hear the calls\, spot the birds\, and experience this Audubon-recognized Important Bird Area firsthand. \n\nGates open at 7:45 am.\nThe group leaves promptly from the parking lot at 8:10 am.\nPlease arrive on time.\nCheck in with your guide in the parking lot.\nRestrooms will be open.\n\nWhat to expect: \n\nAll levels of birding experience welcome.\nWe will be walking at a slow\, birders’ pace.\nWalking surfaces that include pavement\, grass\, gravel\, and uneven trails.\nChanges in grade\, including possible hills.\nWalks are rain or shine.\n\nWhat to wear & carry: \n\nDress in layers for the weather\nHiking boots or shoes with good tread\nBinoculars (recommended)\nWater and snacks\n\nPRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED

These walks are designed for individuals with a passion for plants\, their role in ecology\, or those looking to learn more. Although the focus is on plants\, we will talk about whatever we might see while we are out! In the winter months\, we will focus on identification through seeds\, berries\, foliage\, and branches. \nAll levels of knowledge are welcome. There may be some periods of moderately paced hiking\, so wear comfortable hiking shoes. Feel free to bring a camera and a wildflower guide\, such as Peterson’s Field Guide or Newcomb’s Wildflower Guide\, if you’d like\, and enjoy a botanical-filled walk.
