Bethany Teigen\, founder of the Philadelphia Mycology Club\, will lead the way teaching participants how to properly forage for mushrooms. This class is intended for beginners and will include a general introduction to the fungal kingdom and identification information on each specimen found. Please remember to wear good walking shoes and dress for the weather.

SUMMARY:Haverford College Arboretum: Pumpkin Carving
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun\, creative evening of making Jack-O-Lanterns for the next evening’s Night Hike! \n\n\n\n\nCome out and carve a Jack-O-Lantern that will be on display during the Fall Festival. Compete for prizes for a winning pumpkin in both children and adult categories. All ages are welcome and all supplies will be provided. You may pick up your pumpkin at the end of the Fall Festival if you wish to take it home. \nIf you are unable to attend the pumpkin carving night and you would like to enter a pumpkin in our competition please reach out to Jennie at jciborowsk@haverford.edu. \nParking for this event is in the South Lot and participants will meet in front of the Facilities Management Building with carving occuring in the grounds garages.

DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the season at our family-friendly festival! \n\n\n\n\nEnjoy the great outdoors and celebrate the season at our fall festival! This evening will be full of family-friendly activities\, including but not limited to children’s crafts and games\, an apparel sale\, and a jack-o-lantern-lit night hike! \nThe night hike\, arts\, crafts\, and games are free for all. For those wishing to purchase apparel and merchandise\, we take cash\, credit\, debit\, checks\, Apple Pay\, and Google Pay. Please note there will not be food available for purchase at the event\, so please plan to eat before or after attending. \nThis event will be canceled if inclement weather is predicted. Parking for this event can be found in the South Lot\, and the festival will take place in the nursery area adjacent to the greenhouse complex.
