Hear Ravel’s Tzigane with brilliant competition winner Maxwell Brown, two American discoveries, and Dvorak’s beautiful Third Symphony!
The opening half is a tasting menu, opening with a neoclassical overture by Berenice Robinson from the 1940s, before we venture into the only orchestral work by New Age/Minimalist composer Joanna Brouk, Lalinia electra, both treasures from the Fleisher Collection.
This year’s Irving Ludwig Competition winner is violinist Maxwell Brown, who performs Ravel’s brilliant, Roma themed Tzigane.
We end with the beautiful Czech romanticism of Dvorak’s Third Symphony in E-flat major.
With free parking for concert-goers and a convenient Sunday afternoon concert time, the Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra is a great way to experience outstanding performances in the DelCo and Philadelphia region!
