What is nature journaling?
In the practice of nature journaling, you use words, pictures, and numbers to collect and record your observations, questions, connections, and explanations on the pages of a notebook. You do not need to be an artist, writer, or a naturalist to begin. These skills can be learned by anyone, and you can develop them with deliberate practice.
What tools we suggests bringing:
mechanical pencil and/or your favorite drawing pencil(s)
colored pencils/markers/crayons/watercolors to add some pops of color
fiber tipped pens like Micron pens
Erasers: kneaded eraser and hard eraser like a pink eraser or something similar
hard-back sketchbook that is the largest you feel like hauling around. The hard back cover will support your paper as you take notes and sketch.
a bag to keep all your tools in
water bottle/snacks
Bring a light, portable chair or blanket to sit on
earbuds with music- feel free to chat while we journal together or block everyone out. All are welcome.
