To kick off the annual celebration of DelCo Pride, we will begin with our popular Pride Parade! This parade will celebrate and promote the rights and equality of the whole LGBTQQIA+ community, and we invite everyone to come out and show their support.
The parade will feature community groups, non-profits, and performers, showcasing a wide range of expressions from across the spectrum of identities and sexualities. You can expect to see rainbow flags, costumes, banners, music, performers, and dance, as well as informational materials and advocacy efforts from various LGBTQIA+ organizations and allies across our region.
The parade route is approximately 1 mile in length with multiple spots for performances, etc. There are no moving vehicles allowed in this parade.
The event promises to be a joyful and age-inclusive celebration of LGBTQIA+ Pride, activism, and community, and we encourage everyone to engage in positive interactions with each other.
This year, we continue to ask our community members to switch out the flags for signs as we embrace the original purpose of pride. Solidarity and standing up for our community’s rights!
