FOR ADULTS AND TEENS AGES 12-17

On this guided tour, you’ll visit historic structures and discover how the Minshall, Painter, and Tyler families used the land and left a lasting legacy – including a remarkable collection of trees planted by the Painter brothers. Travel over 260 years of history and uncover how Tyler’s past continues to shape its present.

About your guide: Dale Harris has been a longtime volunteer at Tyler with a special interest in maintaining and learning more about our Pollinator Preserve, as well as our trees and history. She is a retired Psychologist and musician.

What to expect:

  • Canceled 48 hours in advance if inclement weather, all registrants will be contacted
  • Max one-mile hike on mostly even ground, some uphill
  • Check in at the Visitor Center, where you’ll meet your guide

What to bring:

  • Dress for the weather
  • Shoes suitable for walking

PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED

MEMBERS (sign in for your discount!): FREE

NON-MEMBERS: $18 per adult; $15 per senior (65 and over);$10 per teen, ages 12-17. The fee includes admission, so feel free to stay for the day after the program! Teens must be accompanied by a registered adult.

GUEST PASS HOLDERS: (for non-members only): FREE. Please give your guest passes to the Visitor Center Associate at check-in, or inform them that you are accompanying a Family or higher-level member as their guest. This program is free with your guest pass admission, so feel free to stay as long as you’d like after the program!

LIBRARY PASS HOLDERS: FREE. Please present your Library Pass to the Visitor Center Associate at check-in for the program. This program is free with your library pass admission, so feel free to stay as long as you’d like after the program!
