Linvilla Orchards Pumpkinland (September 6 – November 2)

Fall into fun at Delaware County’s favorite family-friendly farm! This 100+ year-old farm is an autumnal mecca for locals. You can buy freshly-picked produce or go out in the fields and pick it yourself; climb, swing and jump through the giant playground, or get up close and personal with the farm animals.  And from mid-September through early November, it’s all about Pumpkinland:  piles of pumpkins in all shapes and sizes are on display, and an entertainment calendar bursting with activities that includes live music, hayrides, train rides, pony rides and face painting – and more!  137 W Knowlton Rd, Media, PA 19015

 

The Bates Motel & Haunted Attractions at Arasapha Farm (October 2 – November 1)

For most of the year, Arasapha Farm is a picture-perfect example of a family-owned farm. But once the autumn chill sets in, that bucolic facade transforms into one of the scariest Halloween attractions in the nation with three spine-chilling experiences. Check into the Bates Motel if you dare – but be warned – the haunted guests within do not respect personal boundaries. Stroll through a moon-lit corn maze inhabited by dozens of creepy creatures to keep you company along the way. Arasapha Farms Harvest Hayride (Saturdays & Sundays September 19 through November 1) 

Start a new family tradition at Arasapha Farm’s Harvest Hayride, with exciting new additions and plenty of family fun. Enjoy a scenic hayride to the corn maze, where new games make exploring more entertaining than ever. The Great Pumpkin Carve (October 15, 16 & 17) 

Chadds Ford Historical Society hosts this three-day Chadds Ford tradition where over 70 giant pumpkins are carved & lit by local artists on Thursday and lit and displayed on Friday & Saturday. Guests can enjoy a ‘kid friendly’ Haunted Trail, raffle prizes,  live music, food, and  local craft beer and wine.   1736 Creek Road, Chadds Ford, PA 19317

 

Colonial Pennsylvania Farmstead:  Shades of Sandy Flash (TBA) 

Lantern Ghost Tours returns with a dramatic retelling of the legendary Sandy Flash, Delaware County’s most infamous outlaw. On dark nights, his daring robberies and fearsome reputation stirred tales of danger and intrigue. Among Pennsylvania folklore, few figures loom larger than Sandy Flash—the “Terror of Delaware County.” His legacy lives on in Sandy Flash Drive, the road leading to the Colonial Pennsylvania Farmstead. There, by firelight, the story comes alive through the voices of victims, captors, and admirers. 59th Annual Delaware County Halloween Parade (TBA)

Media, Everybody’s Hometown, will be haunted by ghosts and goblins of all shapes and sizes at the annual Delaware County Halloween Parade.  Hundreds will gather to catch a glimpse of the procession of zombies, witches and skeletons as well as perennial parade participants such as the Penncrest High School Marching Band, the Strath Haven High School Panther Marching Band,  and the County Corvette Association,  as they make their way down State Street.   Parade watchers are invited to come in costume and can expect plenty of spooky surprises and frighteningly good fun.  Downtown Media

 

Penns Woods Winery’s Halloweekend (October 31  & November 1)

Celebrate Halloween all weekend with festive fun for the whole family at the winery! Enjoy Halloween-themed cocktails, pumpkin painting, face painting, a hay maze, live music, local artisan vendors, food trucks, wine tastings, local beer, cider, cheese, and apple cider donuts. Join Victoria Wyeth as she shares her uniquely personal perspectives on the art of her grandfather, artist Andrew Wyeth (1917-2009) and her uncle, Jamie Wyeth (b. 1946).  Victoria will once again include spooky and seasonal works by both artists, including some not previously on public view. J. Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum’s “Spooktacular”:  Free Archery & Treat Trail (TBA)

Join John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum for a spooky time!  Come walk the Trick o’ Treat Trail, learn about nature and get a treat!
