Dining Around Delco: A Day Out in Wayne

Dining Around Delco: A Day Out in Wayne Overview

At the very Northwest corner of Delaware County, find Wayne, PA, a charming suburban community named after Revolutionary War General Anthony Wayne. There’s a lot to explore in its small, but bustling, downtown, including boutiques and shops, bars and restaurants, and fun, date-ready nightlife. The culinary scene is inventive and diverse, as is the arts and cultural community, anchored by popular spots, like the Wayne Art Center and 118 North.

Wayne is just 18 miles outside of Philadelphia, and right on the SEPTA Paoli/Thorndale Line, making it an ideal day-trip destination. Luckily, there’s plenty of delicious food and beverages to power your excursion! Here’s where to go on your day out in Wayne:

Breakfast & Brunch

First things first: coffee. Stop in Gryphon Coffee for espresso and treats, and, if you’re lucky to snag a table, hunker down with a book or crossword puzzle. This local spot uses its own line of beans to craft lovely classic espresso drinks and brew balanced drip coffee. Other bevs, like matcha, hot chocolate, nitro cold brew and kombucha, are on offer, as are a tasty array of snacks and bites. On the food menu, the whipped cream cheese on an English muffin, vegan pastries and avocado toast are all local favorites.

Think French toast casserole with apple compote, smoked salmon eggs Benedict, cinnamon sugar-dusted doughnut holes and steamy coffee. Silverspoon’s farm-to-table approach means ingredients are seasonal and fresh, with thoughtful touches that elevate every dish. Brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
